Cinched

Full Skirt Trench and Skirt Underneath - Winners, Belt - Versace (via eBay)

Boots - Diba/Bronx
Whoever invelted the belt was a genius. It was probably invented to hold up pants, or wait is that suspenders? Regardless, I love belts because they add some definition to my straight figure, which by the way, Wiki defines as "Banana". Mmmmkay. Never quite thought I was built like a banana but then I found this [via Google Images]...

Yeah...I kinda see the resemblance. Besides, a certain banana I know is pretty cool so I'll take it ;)
I rarely leave home without a belt, especially when wearing flowy dresses or tops. I need to draw in that waist because there's nothing I despise more than hearing the words, "Oh my gosh!!! Are you pregnant?"
Seriously, seriously???
Seriously, when I'm preggo, everyone and their grandmother will know. I'll be shouting it from the rooftops so puh-lease, get your hands off my belly and save your question for someone with an actual bun in the oven.

Awk...ward...moving on, the winner of my recent giveaway is Elaine from Clothed Much! Congrats, missy! I'll be sending you an email to get your info.
Thanks to everyone who entered. And I'll be having another giveaway  soon so stay tuned!

And I've also added some Gucci, Prada and Leather Goods to my online shop MyDesignerFinds.com so do take a peek! See something you like that's out of your budget? Make me your best offer and I may just take you up on it!

Happy Midweek Everyone!
xx Ela
p.s. Special Thank You to Clare at Clarabelle for the sweet shout out! BAH, forgive me for seeing this 6 days late. Thanks, hon :) And for those of you who haven't *met* Clare, you must! Get!

  3. Ela, I can so much relate about the banana thingy. I too am a banana but I chose to hide my non-existent waistline with loose tops.

  5. Oh darn, I was so close to winning lol!

And I agree with you, whoever invented the belt and more importantly the cincher is a genius! I love your full skirt trench dress, must be lovely to swirl around in it:)

  6. Ah yes, the wonders of a great belt! I would guess that when you wear something billowy in the belly region, it's such a stark contrast to your slender arms and legs that it provokes confusion. Or was it S's friend that asked if you're pregnant? Because that guy has issues.

  8. My Ela Bella!! I hate when I wear I flowy dress or shirt and people say I look pregnant...really? How could someone possibly think that is an okay comment to make. Honestly unless you know 100% that someone is prego or you literally see the baby falling out you should never ask someone if they are pregnant...or risk a potential punch in the face!

You my darling will make one cutie patootie pregnant lady when it does happen :)

  13. ela, ela, bo, bellie... heeeheeehe love that banana picture of the baby! ;P yes, belts are essential and unfortunately i often forget to wear one, not good, and not attractive when i'm constantly pulling my pants up and doing a bit of an... hmm... how do you describe it when you're kinda doing a leg hop with both legs? it looks kinda elv-ish? hahaha!

anyhoootttts... umm, certain ppl i can see why they'd be asked if they were pregnant but YOU!?!? they must've been on something. seriously. i've never been asked that but i'm always i afraid someone will after i eat a big meal. haha!

oh, and thank you for referring me to your friend! I havn't heard from her yet but i'm looking forward to it, thanks!

  16. I love your trench. The whole outfit is fabulous. It's very Audrey Hepburn-ish, which I adore. :)

  17. Great trench! I love the full-skirted style of it! I'm not really a banana shape, but I love belts nevertheless... especially when it comes to dresses (the empire line ones are just evil... they make anyone look pregnant).

Oh, and I thought I should let you know, I heard from a friend that a few H&Ms, such as those in NYC and Paris are restocking their Choo items tomorrow (Nov. 19th). I don't know if Toronto will, but if you still have an eye on those shoes you missed, you should check in because I"m guessing most people won't know about a new shipment.

  18. you look so warm and cozy! and belts are a good thing, as long as they don't HURT WHEN I SIT. hahahah. so that means i don't wear many belts. at least not the stiff ones. hahahahahah :)

  22. don't thank the inventor of belts...thank your genes for that tiny waist of yours. belts don't need to cinch you but it definitely compliments that area making you look even more amazing!

i'm too curvy and would wish to have your 'banana' figure. there's more silhouette that drape better with such body shape. oh well, need to learn to be happy with what i have. at least i'm healthy (repeating this to myself ten thousand times until contentment sinks in). ;-)

  26. If you ARE a banana (and I don't know, bc you look pretty sexilicious to me!), you do a fantastic job dressing to accentuate your positives, because you always look absolutely gorgeous!
