Dress - Bob Mackie Studio, Shoes - Seychelles
The wedding was beautiful and I tried not to cry like a baby. S took over 600 photos but since most of them involved people, I can't post them since only two of my cousins know about my blog...I can't even post shots with just the three of us because they haven't *approved* said photos. So unfortunately I don't have much to share.
This is me during the 10:30am cocktail hour...lugging a bag of Godiva chocolates, which amazingly did not melt, to the reception.
The resort where the wedding was held. Never before, have I wanted to jump into a pool more.
Some memorable moments from our trip:
1. My brother walked into a cactus. Seriously, the boy needs a haircut. When your bangs or fringe or whatever you want to call them, get in the way of your vision...dude, get a trim.
2. S loves to take photos but being in them, not so much. He did however get his picture taken before the wedding...by a speeding camera enroute to the wedding. And how lovely that we have to wait till the ticket gets sent to the rental car company before it gets passed onto us, which means we get to wait even longer to find out how much it's gonna cost us. The suspense is *killing* me. Thanks, babe. What a lovely souvenir.
3. Seeing my 10 San Fran cousins after about 25 years! Two of them are twins and I could only tell them apart by their tattoos.
4. Having a bad episode with mexican food. Let's just leave it at that.
5. Having a bad episode with chicken two nights later. Again, let's just leave it at that.
6. Shopping at one of the biggest F21's I've ever been in. We spent at least 2 hours there and lost each other every 10 minutes.
7. Watching S get into 3 other cars before going with the one we rented. Now I know how he feels when he watches me try on shoes.
8. Having our GPS tell us that it would take 5 1/2 hours to drive from Phoenix to Tucson. What the heck??? I nearly died. Good thing I figured out that some bozo had set it to avoid all highways. Who does that??? We got there in under 2 hours.
9. Freaking out because I thought a creepy crawly was on my leg, only to find out the strange sensation, was my leg...sweating. Did not previously know what that felt like. Or that my leg was even capable of doing so.
10. Witnessing my Aunt say "I do", to her Mr. Right. Made everything else, worth it.
I've missed you all so much! Can't wait to catch up with each and everyone of you.
Happy weekend, loves!
xx Ela

ooh bad episodes with mexican food...been there, done that...many times! wish i could've seen your brother walk into a cactus. that would've been a picture worth sharing :)
ReplyDeleteglad you had fun! xoxo.
You look so pretty! I love that dress and you're hair is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed your trip. AZ would not be for me- Jaime + lots of sweating= unhappy and cranky Jaime. But I would go for the HUGE F21 (and stay in AC mall all day, hehe)!
Enjoy your weekend :)
Love Ur dress!
ReplyDeleteX♡X♡
Darling, YOU LOOK AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! The colours of your dress suit you to the last molecule. Well, I know it sounds weird, but they do, it's like you were born to wear those beautiful pastels. Your face is glowing and you just look, well, incredibly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I feel bad about not being able to do the tag - I promise to do it this weekend!!!!!!!!!
Sending you many kisses and hugs and wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Oh, Ela. This is one of my favorite posts you have so far. I love it! Arizona looks gorgeous (despite being a sauna) and you look gorgeous in that dress! :)
ReplyDeleteYour memories from the trip are just HILARIOUS. Is it wrong that I think it would have been freaking hysterical if you guys had actually taken the five and a half hour drive to Tucson, avoiding all highways? I'm sorry if that makes me evil. But that would have been one hell of a story, huh? ;)
Oh, and I can totally relate to the sweat/bug thing. When my car lost air-conditioning over the summer, the same thing happened to me in the car! I almost crashed b/c I thought a spider was on my back. Lol.
Sigh, and that F21 sounds heavenly. We don't have any two story F21s where I live, but every time I go on a trip, I seek one out!
I'm glad you had a lovely time at the wedding. It sounds like it was beautiful and romantic and sweet. Just as it should be!
PS. Glad to see you posted. I missed you!!
"Watching S get into 3 other cars before going with the one we rented. Now I know how he feels when he watches me try on shoes."
ReplyDeleteAhahahaha! So true! ;-)
Are you sure you weren't in FLA? Cuz I'm STILL roasting here! ah ha. LOVE that dress and those shoes are fabulous. I heart Seychelles!
ReplyDeleteOh what a nice time, you look just lovely. Sorry for the Mexican food and chicken incident, that doesn't sound so fun. But...glad the wedding went well and that you enjoyed every moment! Hope you enjoy your weekend and that it is restful for you. XO.
ReplyDeleteoh, sweaty hot weddings KILL ME!!! my sis was married in southern california one august. it was ROASTING. we all thought we were going to die. it was outdoors and it was just AWFULLY hot. we all survived, but WOW i do not want to go through that again!
ReplyDeleteyour dress is lovely, and you are SO FUNNY! hope you are home and feeling great, and that you have a nice relaxing weekend that is free of creepy crawlies. :)

You look so graceful in that dress!
ReplyDeleteThe venue looks amazing. I wish we had some of that heat here. I'm still turning the heat on when I'm in the house.
I just love weddings. And I cry too - what a sook!
You look amazing and beautiful in that yellow dress! OMG it's beyond hot here in Thailand. You don't know hot until you've been here sweating up a storm at touristy sites with NO AC :( Hope you're enjoying your weekend, dear! xx
ReplyDelete600 photos?!?! Holy snap happy batman!! S is crazy! I love it! I thought I was the only person in the world that took excessive amounts of pictures...
ReplyDeleteAnd no surprise- you looked amazing. LOVE that dress and your shoes are amazing. Sorry you had to roast though! If I had been there, I probably would've packed some marshmellows on ice in my purse, staked out a stick in the desert and then whipped out said marshmellows during the event and roasted them in the heat. But that's just me...
Glad you had a good time (minus the mexican food debacle... oh no) but I am kinda glad you're back now too. I've missed you!!
you look so elegant, love your dress and the way your hair is done! so pretty!!!
ReplyDeletesorry to hear you were roasting alive! glad the trip was wonderful though :)

You look hotter than the Arizona weather in this lovely outfit, I like it a lot!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the newlyweds! Oh but too bad you can't tell them I said that without telling them about your blog as well! ;)
A speeding ticket, oh no!! Was he caught on the freeway or side streets? Not to scare you but the cheapest speeding ticket I have heard of is at least $100!!! But you know what, I feel like there's a funny story here brewing up as soon as you get the ticket. Oh gosh, I'm so bad to anticipate a good laugh out of the mister's misfortune!
Have a great Sunday and can't wait for more AZ pix & stories!!
Grace
your dress is so lovely ! love the photos :D
ReplyDeleteohmigod, who would want to AVOID highways? people hiding from the policie- murderers & criminals would!!! I'm odd, i know.

Hey there. Happy Sunday to you. I hope you've been enjoying the weekend. Take care. Good luck with the week ahead. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteEla!!
ReplyDeleteYou are looking fine, lady! I lovelovelove that dress. And the metallic-esque shoes.
And bad episodes with chicken- I feel your pain. Let's just leave it at that :P
HURRRRRRAAAYYYYY!!! I am so happy your are back! And I am seriously in love with that gorgeous dress Ela, Wow! Yellow is your color girl (wait haven't I said that before about another color?) Well, you are so fabulous and gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love how our lives mirror each other. Last weekend I also went to an outdoor wedding. In upstate New York. By the end of the ceremony I was pretty sure I was dying from exposure. It was freezing, like REALLY freezing. I practically ran into the ballroom after the ceremony was over so my beau could help me thaw off.
So I totally feel your pain about adverse weather at an outdoor wedding. Thank the good Lord those lovely chocolates didn't melt!!
Have a wonderful day and I hope you are feeling better from your bad food experiences
aww i got so excited reading that you went there .. i went there this summer god it was boiling like wretchedly hot ..... but isnt the desert so gorgeous
ReplyDeleteYay for weddings, sounds so exciting! Especially when the whole family gets together. I absolutely love the dress you wore :) Yikes, walked into a cactus?! That sounds painful beyond words. Hope you're having a beautiful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful colours! You look gorgeous, and your make-up looks divine :)
ReplyDeleteoh you are so pretty. cute as a button. really.
ReplyDeleteI Am Denise Katipunera
Hi hon, I missed you! You look fab in that dress by the way! And I'm so bad with heat (and cold... why can't it be 22 degrees all year round?). I still ask myself how I managed to live in Hong Kong, where the temps would go up to 35 degrees with 99% humidity. I did actually find Arizona almost bearable compared to that, because it was slightly drier when I went... haha! Anyway, sorry about the speeding ticket, but I'm glad you still enjoyed the wedding :)
