1. Nursed a headache on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
2. Attempted a DIY on Friday night; frayed/destroyed denim. I was doing well, until I got lazy and realized it was almost 1am and started to tear *rips* in random places as opposed to sanding the denim down to weaken the fibres, causing the frays. I learned that though I may spend 2 hrs on one scrapbook page, I won't *sand* denim for more than 40 minutes.
Was more like a Don't.D.I.Y. Ruined a completely good pair of vintage Levi's.
3. Broke a sweat. Without working out or doing any strenuous labour. No one likes going to the gym with me because apparently I come out with a "nice glisten" as opposed being drenched.
I pretty much NEVER sweat. No matter what I do.
Except this weekend...without even doing a thing...
Toronto is having a serious heatwave.

4. Wished I were in Hawaii. Blame it on the s-s-sk-sk-skirt
...blame that on Jamie Foxx.
5. Went for Sushi. Baked brownies and chocolate chip cookies.
And ate a lot of gummy worms.

ReplyDeleteI love that skirt; so cute! I have never tried a DIY denim project but I'd be afraid to try, I just don't think being very crafty is part of my DNA!

ReplyDeletewow that skirt is beautiful! it sounds like your weekend was fun! i did nothing new!
ReplyDeleteand yes, i have 'sanded' denim. i was scruffing up the legs of my jeans and i sanded one or two areas and lost patience, so i just cut it. it was just soooooo slow! didnt turn out as well!
You are such a stylish girl, Ela! Great combination and FABULOUS shoes!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Such a lovely skirt Ela! U are so really pretty! So 50's...
ReplyDeleteX♥X♥
first, love the shoes lady! and yes i have tried to sand denim. let's just say i murdered those jeans. i may attempt to try it again but i won't post about it as i fear the worst already. lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer about your headache... and I adore your yellow shoes. Love them. And I think it's fabulous you ate a lot of gummy worms. So tasty!
ReplyDeleteFab skirt and gorgeous shoes! Damn, I have to figure out a way to follow! :(
ReplyDeleteLOVE the shoes and skirt! and omgosh it was the biggest heatwave (more like humidity-wave, rather) of the summer here this weekend and it's going to last until tuesday. yuckk >.< but your so lucky you never sweat, i am legit pouring buckets by just walking a mere few steps...TMI?? haha. it's probably because im so out of shape, eep!
ReplyDeleteyou are fabulously cute! that skirt it just too adorable!

P.S. Have never tried sanding denim, but may have to give it a go, since it looks like shredded jeans are here to stay!
I seriously suck at DIY, which is why I don't even bother anymore. I do have some nice rips in my jeans, which took about 2 years and the effect came on it's own. But I'm pretty impatient, so there's no way I could just sand jeans like that. Oh, I never sweat either.. how funny! But it's been ridiculously warm here, so I have been breaking out a few droplets the past few days. Have a great week ahead! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so sassy and adorable here! Wish I looked that way nursing a headache...hope you at least had some fun times to blame for it!
ReplyDeleteAnd...you live in Toronto?? Lucky! If you ever come to San Francisco, I'm gonna need you to come over and show me how to do these extensions in person! ;)
I don't know what to do about Blogger updates?! I checked my settings and it seems fine (as far as I can tell) but can you let me know if it's still messed up?
Thanks, Ela! You are such a sweetie! XO
HAHAH!!! many of my diy attempts turn out to be DI AWRY! maddening! so i usually just take the easy way out and buy stuff!
ReplyDeletehope it cools down for you soon, even though you are dressing so well for the sweaty weather!
and wait until you see that antonio show!!! T-R-A-S-H! but he is so hot!!!! HOT!!! and i smiled ear-to-ear one hour straight while watching it! hahahahhaha.
I suck big time at DIY denim. I'm glad you attempted it, though! Kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteSorry for stalking, but that skirt is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteyour skirt is such a unique print! eye catching and exciting all in one :)
ReplyDeleteits raining here :(
You look darling and sorry your denim experiment did not turn out, but at least you tried! Gummy worms and sushi sounds so good right now! XO
ReplyDeleteOh sister, I'm MELTING too! Love that skirt!
ReplyDeleteOh noooooooooo.... little sweetheart....
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to read!
But on the other hand I feel a little solace. Because I wasn't the only one who had an unlucky weekend... We went to birthday parties. On Saturday evening I took my Chloe IDA clutch with me. It's a sweet clutch with some studded details and I was so lucky to find it vintage in great condition for a bargain. However the clue on this clutch is a little red London bus charm.
And guess what... I've lost it. When I returned home I've recognized that it wasn't there.... Boooohoooooo.
So, shared misery is only a half one. Right??? ;)
You look lovely in the pictures! And thank you!!! I can leave a comment with Name/URL now!! YAAAAAAAY! Wishing you a wonderful week, dear! xoxo sofie
i guess the heat wave moved from the west to the east!!! it was killer for us that week.. i had to sleep on the floor in the living room beside two big open windows. hahaha! ummm, can i have some gummy worms?
ReplyDeleteand ohhhh that urinal story about your friend? priceless. hahahahha! anddddd kinda creepy. but priceless nonetheless. ;)
you look gorgeous! the skirt is perfection!! love your weekend post! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt! I am inspired!
ReplyDeleteits hard to get the rips just right without making them look too perfect....I have tried and failed but throwing them in the wash a few times helps ;)
ReplyDeletexox
and yes, the heatwave was terrible :s
but I wont complain bc its better than rain!
I love the yellow pumps and the skirt is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou're so gorgeous! OOOOhhh, although you destroyed your jeans (insert moment of silence here) you can think of it as a learning process.
ReplyDeleteand SPEAKING of sushi. I had a totally NYC moment today. I am getting off work late and I go to grab dinner and this cute sushi place. I order shrimp tempura because that is the best kind of sushi ever and it costs me (wait for it)... $9.78 for ONE ROLL! I just about died right there in the middle of that shop in Soho.
Anyhow, I hope your sushi was delicious, and hopefully much cheaper!
Cheers!
Love the artistic photo very much...especially the 1st one! Cheers to the photographer, plus the model ;) Adore the charming print as well darling!
ReplyDeleteHope you have no headaches by now...

ReplyDeleteooh lovely skirt and I spot a SPEEDY! headaches are never fun, I hate them second to sore throats. Everything else I can tolerate haha. Yeah that's some good math skillz I got this morning about the average orgasm per minute, I think I did my unit cancellation right!? LOL

ReplyDeleteYou say toronto is having a heatwave, hahaha you should come to india. We have heatwaves 365 days a year and we never have the weather to wear gorgeous trench coats, jackets and woollen stuff. You are so lucky toronto is hot in summer and super-cold in winters!
