Falling For You

It's official. Chilly mornings and nights are back in Toronto. And sweaters and boots are back on me. Fall is around the corner and I'm torn. I'm going to miss finding an excuse for a pedicure and the sun beating down on me(I wasn't saying that 2 weeks ago) yet I can't wait to throw on the layers, wear socks and boots and not worry about perfect pedis. What's Fall got you falling for?

Aug 31 2

Sweater - Kersh, Skinnies - Just Cavalli, Boots - Seychelles

While we're on the topic of falling for things, I love when S reminds me why I fell for him...

Recently he's told me that my skin is "losing it's elasticity", "getting more wrinkles" and "looks a little dry" and that my mom "possibly has better skin". Since he's put on a *little* weight since our nuptials, I lovingly respond by now referring to his belly button as a "blowhole".

Yup, we fall for each other, just a little bit more each day.

Seriously though, I love him more each day. Bonehead comments and all.

Ending on a different note...

A little while ago, the fabulous Clare gave me this award. She's got an eye for fashion and pairs it with witty commentary...just don't let her catch you pulling a fashion faux pas - she might just call you on it ;) Now passing, in alphabetical order (that's how I roll), onto some fabulous blogs, belonging to funny, witty, [insert all things fabulous here] amazing girls, that I love:

Also, the sweetie and I mean sweetie Kristen Sara passed this duo of awards onto me. She's one bloggie friend I truly hope to meet one day. Now passing onto the some of my favourite ladies who really do *give good blog* and are sweet and fabulous to boot:

Adored Austin, ButterSunshine, Fashion + Geometry, and My Teacups in Peony and Nubia's Nonesense

Hope you're all having a lovely week!

xx Ela

  9. Hey, sometimes I feel like you are talking about my husband. :))) So funny...
Don't give up your pedis, girl! They always make you feel so beautiful and you know, we still take shoes off, sooner or later, so got to have your toes painted and prettified (is there such a word?) As much as I love spring I always find myself looking forward to autumn. I guess, I need a change now and then or I'd get bored. I've already got my warm things out, can't wait to wear my coats because they make me feel beautiful and I still need to buy some cashmere basics and a few candles, just to make evenings even more cozy.
And of course, autumn desserts!!! Warm tarts, baked apples with spicy stuffing, chocolate souffle (still need to learn to make this one...)

Got to love autumn, really. :)

And your rebuttal to S's skin comments made me laugh... a blowhole?! You are too much! I love it!! It's so much fun to read about two people who are so in love that they can actually poke fun at each other and come out the other side MORE in love. So amazing!!

  15. Woah - it's already cold?? I can't imagine that. It's got to be infinity degrees here in Hong Kong.

And that's hilarious about your man. Sounds like something my boyfriend would say to me! Then I just threaten to get botox.

  16. Love the outfit.

You and S sound like such a cute couple. Kristian has put on about 10 pounds since we started dating. He blames me b/c now he's not allowed to just have beer for dinner and I make him eat an actual meal. haha.

  17. Lovely outfit- that sweater is cute. I know, the past few days have been cool in Boston too.. I mean, it's just Sept 2! I'm over the 85+ humid weather, but upper 70s and sunny is nice. I hope it sticks around :)

  18. I love what you're wearing. I can tell that it is a little cooler here, but it's still hot down here in North Carolina. One thing I love about the upcoming season is the leaves changing colors. It's so beautiful.

  19. Fall could not come soon enough for me! Can't wait to sport the boots and sweaters :) It's still a little too hot here in Utah though.

  20. It's amazing how quickly the weather nose-dived here in Canada (BC anyway) - on Sunday I was sweating it out in a tank and jeans on top of Whistler mountain, today I am in boots and a leather jacket and a bit chilly!

Love YOUR boots btw! What a gorgeous colour!

  24. Ela...I'm drooling over those gorgeous boots and your cool weather. I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I can't decide what size to get. I always do this. I spend too much time debating and then it sells out. I have issues.

  26. ya i can't believe the cold nights are back already! last night I actually woke up because I was cold... Sigh there goes summer... hahaha I told my bf to tell me as soon as I gain weight or change so I won't just wake up one day being 300 pounds and it'd be too late! LOL

Yeah the earrings were called lil plump stars? They were $12 for 2 pairs I think... I remember them being fairly decent in terms of the price. You'd have to ask Steph for the exact price I ordered it a while ago ~_-

  33. I have to admit... I"m not ready for Fall. I was window-shopping (of course) again today and I really didn't feel like trying on boots, knits or any other FW stuff. Ugh... not quite ready to retire my sandals and floaty dresses. Unfortunately it has gotten slightly colder here, but thankfullly not cold enough to justify wearing a real jacket ;-) Congrats on the awards by the way! Oh, and how sweet that you and S. have such loving compliments for each other ;-)

  43. Love your boots, love the outfit! =)

Yeh, I agree. While summer is my fave season, I don't like the need for pedi that goes with it. I'm one of those girls (or probably the only one) who does not enjoy trips to the salon!

I was actually just laughing today coz I have been with my man for the last 5 years and sometimes we sound like an old married couple...but you know what I love it coz as fast as we pick at eachother...we turn around and laugh too...you can't beat that...and when you are with someone for any length of time that is what you will get! It really is fun...as long as you see it that way....love is something else isn't it!
