A little over a week ago in my 'Summer Linen' post I mentioned, that although I was growing my hair out, I had scheduled an appointment since my hair was in dier need of a cut. Well, I did go and as much as I said I was "growing it out"...I now look like this...
What can I say? Sitting in that salon chair with a hairdresser toying with my hair and a sharp set of scissors at the nape of my neck, I'm easily swayed. I haven't had my hair this short since I was 18(let's just say that was a while back). I like it because it feels super light and air dries in about 10 minutes. S says it's like he's got a "new wife"......OK then. Might be because since the cut I've also been wearing more masculine pieces and other pieces that feel less "frou frou". We'll see how long that lasts.
I had to take these pictures myself (felt strange and my arm definitely does not feel long enough...note to self: learn how to use the timer) as S is now on photog strike...well not really but he's so busy with work that I just don't want to pull him away just so he can take my picture.
Before we left town last week, I also had an ironing marathon. Fun huh? I didn't want to come back to a ton of housework. S has an insane amount of shirts...or at least he does after I neglect to iron them for 3 weeks. I know I could take them to the cleaners but I actually don't mind when I'm ironing just a few.
In this case I knew it'd be a long haul so I thought I'd give it a bit longer to heat up...why I rested it lying flat is beyond me, I guess when they trimmed my hair, they chopped off some good sense as well.
This is what my ironing board now looks like...
So sad! I will definitely have to replace it. I haven't burnt anything ironing since I was 16 (a good while ago) when I ruined one of my favourite white shirts.
To help pass the time I also popped in a Gilmore Girls DVD. Two years ago I did some Black Friday shopping after visiting my in-laws Stateside for Thanksgiving. Not much to buy where they live but I did manage to get the Gilmore Girls Complete Series on DVD - best $100 I ever spent!
Right now I'm especially loving the episode where Emily buys a small 'panic room' (which slightly resembles a big refrigerator) and gives Lorelai the code...
When my aunt said I could set my own code on her house alarm for whenever I come to visit, I told her I wanted to use the same code. She's not a Gilmore Girls fan so I'm not quite sure she got it. So, just in case, I won't share where she lives...not that I'm saying you'd ever break in...*sigh* how does S put up with me?
